Open letter to record companies....don't put CDs in Super Audio Jewel Cases

Why are you putting regular CDs by artists such as Paul McCartney and Led Zeppelin in Super Audio Jewel Cases? It's bad enough that you are not releasing these albums on SACD, but do you have to tease us by packaging regular CDs in the cases for SACD? And to kick us SACD fans while we are down, you package your SACD in regular jewel cases. What gives? If you have a surplus of Super Audio Jewel Cases, why don't you just release new albums on SACD? All it takes is for you to do the necessary enginnering for the recordings, the rest are all already in place.

I wish all the Disc formats use the same jewel cases. I spent a bit of time and money on racks and cases and it would be nice to have them all fit. :)

How cheap can a company get to use surplus SACD cases for redbook CDs. I'm with you Danny.

SACD cases will fit just like the regular redbook cases, they are just rounded at the corners.

I think I'm more miffed about the dang slim cases!
How in the hell ya supposed to read the sides with the titles?

Not sure how I feel about digipacks.....the durability isn't there...easy shelf wear.

I kinda like the SACD cases but I'm with you....DON'T PUT REGULAR CD'S IN THEM!!

Get some "****" bags to protect them. They also do a great job protecting SACD/CD cases.

What's worse are the self righteous political leaning bash America, pro environment commies that insist on their CD's be packaged in recycled cardboard with no animal product inks. Eff those jagoffs I'm going to go bash a baby seal or burn some wood.

I'd probably get banned!:D:D I'm off set set fire to a rain forest and dump toxic waste off the coast of Bellaire, CA near Alec Baldwin's house. On the way home I'm going to barbecue some Manatee burgers. The taste reminds me of Bald Eagle wings. I enjoy these with a Cabernet that were made by sex slaves in Asia.

I tend to agree as my "Long Road Out of Eden" got damp and shrunk so tight that the CD no longer fits in it. Wait until SACD is replaced buy downloadable SAmp3, this packaging debate will seem trivial.

I agree about cardboard crap cases. I tore one in half just trying to get the damn CD out of it.......

As cheaply built as CD cases are nowadays, I still prefer them to the cardboard garbage......

My 2 Dead Can Dance Cd's came like this.
Like mini record sleeves even down to the paper cover for the Cd.
Then the "Album" cover is in a plastic slip.

While kinda neat retro way of doing things......
Forget putting em on a shelf and be able to read the edge tho!
