Ok not sure what i might be doing wrong so someone please help. Just hooked up my new LSI 25:D and for some reason the bass is there just not like I had with my PSW 404 I assume that I should at the very least have the same amount of boom that I had unless im doing something wrong. I dont know it it has to do with the fact that im using a parasound A23 as an amp for them and im using my Yammy HTR 5790 as my pre for the time being. I do have a P3 pre but due to it being only 2 channel Im not using it so that I can still have my surround for my home theater. Any help would be helpful.
Thanks Mark

You may just be hearing BASS and not BOOM

There is a difference after all.

$10 bucks says it's your source. Also, are the 25s set to Large?

Oh and as far as being set to large yes they are. When you say its my source do you mean my avr or my amp?

    x2 on that.

There is a break in period for your ears whenever you get new speakers...the issue may be that you're hearing cleaner bass, that doesn't necessarily have as much boom. This isn't a bad thing.;)

If it's really an issue, hook the PSW404 back up.

I have heard that the 25's are fairly complicated to set up, and require frequent adjustment due to the powered subs.

So what's the source??? Just so you know, we're not making fun of you. Guitars kill home audio speakers and some morons don't seem to know that.

heck im used to being made fun of and do not take offense. The source would be a couple different things that I have tried first would be a cd via the BD player the other is an Ipod via the usb on the tv. Both are hooked up with a optical cable to the avr. Have not had a chance to watch a movie yet because the other half said that I had to keep it down for the night due to sick kids. Hopefully tommorrow they will go to school and I will be able to try a couple different movies and see what happens.

You just got them today, right? It may be a simple case of the fact that new speakers need to break in before they start to perform properly.

    Are they wired in phase?
Also check that the phase switch on the amp is in the same(normal)position on both speakers.
Aswell the bass level control may be set too low?

I think you have phase issue. You have three subs to integrate into your system and if one of them out of phase, you do not hear much bass.

im only running the two LSI 25's right now I do not plan on hooking up the PSW 404. So I would think that its not a phase issue, but maybe it still is.

Yes, you still have the phase issue when you run Lsi25s only. Try to play with the phase switch on Lsi25s you will have better result.

It can also be a placement issue. Moving them around and see if things improve.

Well the first thing that I tried was hooked my mic for the Htr 5790 and let it go through the set up. After that I messed with the volume controls on the back of the Lsi's and that helped a little bit. After I did that I put on a movie and holy crap yea much better then the music sources that I was listening too so maybe that had something to do with it too. And as far as an amp I am running a Parasound Halo A23 so I would think that is enough power to run them.

I used to use the A23 with my 15s and they're a harder load to drive than the 25s since they are not powered. The results were great. You are not hurting for amplification . . . unless, how bigs your room and where are the speakers placed?

The difference in sound between movies and music still makes me think it's your source. Do you happen to own an old Xbox or new one? Both those systems play music and tend to increase the bass. If you can, try that . . . or use an alternative CD player.
