I received my new LSi 9’s and LSi 7’s last Friday and all I can say is WOW. These speakers sound great.:D I thought my RTi 8’s sounded good but the LSi’s sounded awesome. Heard details on some music I have never heard before and I have not had time to calibrate them yet. Couple of questions. Does anyone know if the LSi’s have a break-in period, if so what is the time frame. Also what height is everyone running their LSi 9’s at

I don't have any LSi experience myself, but they do have a break in period. Any speaker is going to have a break in period if you buy it new. The surrounds need time to stretch out and soften up and whatnot. Anywhere from 50-100 hours is the typical break in time.

The ideal height is generally with the tweeters at ear level.

Good to hear you're happy with your new speakers.:D

Congrats, those are great speakers. Typically you want the tweeter at ear height when seated; I think for the Lsi9 that requires a 24" stand?

Welcome to Club Polk & congrats on putting together a great system the right way the first time around!

Yes there is a break-in period, but don't worry about it. Just enjoy your system & let the break-in take care of itself.

Not a sub expert but it works great for me, get thru the "skadosh" scene in Kung Fu Panda with no issues, rattles my windows. Really like what it adds to my vinyl and CD's.:D

I have them at 25" at the moment, do you think it would hurt them to crank them up a bit or should I wait 30 or 40 hrs before I do that.

Anywhere from a 28 to 30 inch height for the speaker stands is ideal due to the tweeter being in the middle. This should place them at ear height which is what you want to do. But, if you have stands you like that are 25", that will work too. Enjoy your new speakers, they're great, and congrats. Good to see you have a solid amp driving them to really bring them to life. When I first got mine a couple years ago, I just ran them at normal volume and let them break in on their own. Won't take long.

Thanks for all the replies guys, good info. John22614 how do you like your LSiC. I was thinking of replacing my CSi A6 with the LSiC, but as of right now the A6 really doesn’t seem to have any timber issues with the LSi 9’s, sounds great.

You will love Lsi9/C/7 combo for HT, too. I used to own both Rti12/Csi5/Fxi3 and Lsi15/C/9s. The LSi speakers are awesome in both Music and HT if you drive them with separate amplifier.

    Spike,

I used a CSi400 center for a couple years with my 9's and it blended fine. I replaced it with the LSIc partially because I wanted a lighter, smaller center to fit into my shelf and I also liked the perfect match with the 9's. But I could have used the 400 indefinitely without a problem. I don't know about the CSi A6, but if its similar to the 400, it should be fine. I only use it for HT, listen to my music in stereo.

Yea I was thinking the same thing, the LSiC would fit a lot better in my stand. I really like the A6 but it is a beast.

    Congrats on the new speaks.

I have the same Lsi's, and XPA 5, and an older 2802. They got good and settled in around 100 hours. There seems to be a volume threshold with these speakers, where they sound good at low volume, but when they reach a certain level, it's like they open up and really shine. Great combo.
