So I am cruising ebay for deals on SACD and I can't help but noticed the high "completed sales" price for some of the titles.

$46.00 (with 12 bids) for a SACD of Mariah Carey's "#1s"
$50.00 (with 12 bids) for a SACD of the Animals' "Retrospective"
$78.00 (with 3 bids) for the SACD of Peter Gabriel's "Melt" SACD

We're not talking about some rare SACD such as the imported Sarah Brightman SACDs or Aerosmith's "Rocks" SACD.

$46.00 (with 9 bids) for a DVD-A/DualDisc of Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms"

Maybe I should leave those DVD-As I have stay sealed....such as my "Best of Seal" DVD-A

so much for no demand, there is plenty of demand for SACD.

I never was one to hord away music, I figure it was pressed to be played and enjoyed.

Anyway I guess my collection of SACD is worth quite a bit but not planning on parting with it anytime soon.

I'll probably ditch most of mine.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

If you were not so cute some of these musing's would be the death of you.

seems both cd and sacd are hanging on, I thought they might be entirely kicked to the curb by now.

I see a day when you download a tune(s) for 3-5 days after which it magically disappears from your i-pod thingy/computer/server/distributor, I mean your only paying to hear the music, you sure do not own anything about it.

Nope. Just bought two new SACDs last night. Of the last 20 or so CDs purchased in the last few months, at least half have been SACDs.

SACD is still going strong....breaking thru the 5,700 title barrier last night at sa-cd.net. Almost 90 new SACD titles since beginning of 2009.

DVD-A? Not sure. King Crimsom coming on DVD-A soon?

For those who are interested in some Japan-only SACDs, please go to this particular thread over at quadraphonicquad.com

The above link list discs, almost all of them SACD, quadraphicquad.com member Cai Campbell ordered from HMV Jp right before his untimely passing. His mom has just listed these titles to be sold to those who are interested.

The price for out of print MFSL, DCC and Mastersound gold cd's is getting pretty crazy these days as well.

And to think how some complain about the $15.00 price tag for a regular CD.....LOL

The Classical Music I find on SACD "Hybrid's" which I find the normal CD layer is Remastered sounds incredible.
As long as I find they are highly rated (Thus the sound quality is there) I'll continue to pick em up.
As I have said before.....multi-channel dosen't really impress me.
BUT the "Hybrid" played on my regular CD Player sounds spectacular!
Most of the Classical SACD "Hybrid" Cd's are under $20.
No plan on parting with mine as long as all these factors are met.

I just recently got into SACD, having just gotten my first SACD player. Currently the only one I have is the DSOTM SACD, but there are definitely going to be a lot more of them coming soon. Going by the little experience I have with it, I love it.

I wasn't to big on the multi-channel mix, but in 2 channel downmix it was amazing.

Never thought about selling my collection. As a classical music fan, hybrid SACD two channel is da bomb. Jazz fans do alright too. That doesn't mean I wouldn't love to find Hell Freezes Over on SACD (that will never happen but I think it's on DVD-A) or Pet Shop Boys "Please".

Since Warner Music is about to release its first domestic SACD, the Eagles could eventually show up on SACD.

I have been thinking of selling off the small amount of DVD-A and SACD's recently. I don't have anyway to play them anymore.. since my Blu ray player is now using the analog inputs on the pre amp.

I am glad I have Fleetwood Mac- Rumours on DVD-a though. I hear it's fetching a pretty decent shiny coin on Epay.

Couple of my fave DVD-A disc's are

    Crowded House
    The Fixx - 1011 Woodland
B.B. King and Eric Clapton - Riding with the king
R.E.M. - Automatic for the people
Fleetwood Mac - Say you Will
    Barenaked Ladies - Maroon
    PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert

Only a few of them do, and those are the uber-expensive ones.

The only one I can think of offhand that does is one of the Denon units.

My original run 60 GB PS3 plays SACD, but I haven't had the pleasure of hearing one yet. I was "in" for that awesome Kinks SACD karma a couple of weeks back, but obviously I didn't win.

I've decided to try and see what the hub-bub is all about sometime in the next month or two.

I can't believe I'm giving them a plug ...but the new OPPO BDP-83 Blu-ray player should be coming out soon. It will be a SACD player as well and should come in between $500-$600.

F*CK ebay! No offense meant towards anyone here. Just a heads-up....
Some of my best finds on SACD have been on amazon. I've gotten used titles for as little as 5.00. I can't stress this enough though. Make damn sure to email the seller first and have them confirm that the title you're interested in is the SACD format. Had a couple cases where the merchants have sent me redbook CD's and had to file a claim. Since I've learned to email the seller before buying, every title I've ordered since has been SACD. Check frequently, cover your bases and you can find some terrific titles cheap on the zon. You can even find brand new discs there at a fair price.

Had this happen on evil bay once....learned my lesson!
I have yet to pay more than $15 for a title off evil bay for a SACD(Usually around $10-$12).
But then again Classical doesn't move like the others either.
Suits me as long as they are "Hybrid"!
I buy Cd's from Amazon resellers now and then.
Thing is I rack money in Paypal and you hafta use a credit card threw Amazon.
I only use my Paypal stash when at all possible.
