That's a great price for $250, even with them being 1st generation. Add $300 to mod the crossover and you'll end up with a killer monitor for just $550.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

The veneer finish on the 1st generation cherry is a rather golden stain. No where nearly as attractive IMHO as the reddish cherry of the 2nd generation.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

See this thread here where I asked a similar question answered by Polk CS. Its a bit more than just the finish. Apparently at some point there was also a bevel.____________________

Did you get them?engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
If this forum were full of my close friends, I'd swear they were just **** with me.
I pay $515 to have a pair shipped from Boston and less than a week later here's a pair 15 miles from my house for $250???
I think I'll go listen to my new 9's and realize I got a really good deal...I just didn't get to steal them like whoever gets these is doing:)Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -

Assuming Susie_Q with no feedback makes good on the transaction, I'd say she is a disgruntled wife getting even for her husband taking her to a Monster Truck show for Valentine's Day.;)____________________

I do want to be clear that I'm VERY happy with the price I paid. Add to that the speakers have been well taken care of by a Polkie, the interaction with SKsolutions was great, and I was very confident in the product I was buying. On top of that, I really needed black, not cherry. I did almost think it was a joke when I saw this thread though:)
And hopefully Andy did get this pair and they are indeed an 8/10

Well, I didn't get to her first but I am in the running. She said there is one other local guy ahead of me, and if he doesn't pay soon, looks like I might get them.
Apparently, her husband died recently and she just didn't know what they were worth. I'd almost feel bad getting them for $250 knowing that. . . . ALMOST.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

Good luck, Andy. Let us know if you get them.
