Well, I was thinking of purchasing a pair or Rti A9's, so if u have a pair or have heard a pair pls let me know ur thoughts. I'd also like to know if it's worth the extra money to go for the A9's or if Id be better off to save 500+ bucks n get the Rti12's. Where Im at I don't have the luxery of a demo. I have heard the Rti12's and I know how much I enjoyed those. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Josh

Save your money!! Your going to need it to pay this years taxes!!!
I think buying "up" is always the way to go so 9's would be my choice. -
I have the A9's and they are a very, very good speaker. Highs/Mids/Lows are all very good. I don't however have a point of reference that would apply as i went from Bose 201/301's to the A9 and quite frankly any comparison there is ridiculous at best. They are great for HT and I enjoy them for music as well.
Aesthetically, the A9's are really nice as well. I like the curved cabinet over straight/squared off lines. I can't leave the grilles off as the wee ones would like to play with the moving parts, but it is a beautiful speaker with the grilles off. -
FWIW i recently got a pair of RTi10s and really enoy them, wish i could get my hands on a pair of RTi12s or A9s though. Sonically the 12's and A9's are nearly identical with the A9's just being a tad smoother on the top end from what i've heard so may not be worth a $500 sound premium unless you just prefer to new cabinet style over the old ones. The A9's in cherry look awesome and that may be my next speaker purchase in a few years.KEF Q150 | Rythmik F12 | Yamaha Aventage RX-A780

Really, curt, you're getting the better deal. Anyone getting a tax return had their own money being held without interest....If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Oh I know. I get more money in my actual paychecks, so I'm not complaining.
It's just that every year around this time, everyones talking about what their going to do with their tax returns...and I don't get one. Having that lump sum show up all at once is nice...because you don't feel bad about spending it all really.
I don't worry about it to much though...I'd rather keep getting payed cash.;)The nirvana inducer-

Hey I upgraded to a better reciever with my Uncle Barack money, wish I was getting some Bush Bucks again then I would get the amp to go with it. Save your 500 and put it towards an amp...that was easy.Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)

getting a tax return is just a bonus, afterall, you got to use everything all year long that taxes provide and just pay a little bit a time for it now you are getting money back, super deal.
enjoy your tax return, remember to apply the Law of Limited Necessity to whatever you purchase so you do not waste this found money on something you have to have.

Or you could spend your return on patio furniture like we did
On the bright side I have a budget for my next TV/Stand/BDP double what we are spending on that which is Irish and stays out all night.
Oh by the way I like the A9 but you will want an amp so if the budget dosen't allow both do what Kchill said. Get the 12s and apply the saved money to a good used amp.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH
