Thanks Joe. Admittedly, I have been a less frequent visitor. Attention has been elsewhere I guess. -

I heard about this but never from anyone who's actually heard the CD. Thanks for the info.:) -

How's the vinyl rig been sounding? -

good luck.. hope you can get it solved.
I got an e-mail from Russ today and it looks like we will be able to get together in the next couple of days. Hopefully we can get my issue worked out.

Well Russ came over today and gave me a lesson on Cantilever alignment. It looks like my cantilever on my 2M Red is slightly out of wack and probably the cause of my issues. I had previously been aligning the cartridge.
Russ is a great guy and and helped me out immensely. Russ brought over a whole bunch of TT tools and gear to help me out. He also brought over a bunch of LP to listen to. We spun more vinyl today than I have in the past 3-4 months.
Thanks again Russ.

Thanks you Scott.:) -
Polkitup2,
I started off with a Pro-Ject Debut 3 and made a few upgrades, I really enjoyed getting back into vinyl but found my CD player (Cambridge 640c) was out performing the TT on pretty much everything. About 2 months ago I decided to drop about $1600 on a much better table and cartridge, Project RPM 9.1 and the Ortofon 2M black. I got the table slightly used for a great price. The difference has blown my socks off. Decently recorded albums sound good, well recorded albums sound like live performances in my living room! My girlfriend will routinely come into the room and ask me how they could make recordings sound so live, and that's saying something! Crap records still sound like crap and even worse now that I know what good really sounds like, but I have to say I would not have done it any other way. My vinyl is here to stay!Mains - Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand
Subs - Rel T5 x 2
Amplification - Bryston 3b cubed
Pre Amp - Marantz Sc11-1
SACD - Marantz Sa11-1
Stream - Cambridge Audio CXN v2
Dac - Marantz Dac-1
TT - Pro-Ject RPM 9.1 w/ Ortofon 2M Black Cartidge
Phono Stage - Project Tube box DS -
That's what I seem to be hearing, an entry level table just isn't going to give me the sound quality that I am looking for. I really like the Clearaudio emotion table but right now I don't want to spend a couple grand for one.
