Test discs

I'm wondering about test CDs/DVDs. I'm aware of the presence of the AVIA test disc and others.
I'm wondering as to the use of the AVIA on a CD player. I know it also does the video, but does it do anything more than the THX set-up found on some DVDs? If so, should I just get a CD test disc. I'm wanting test tones from 16Hz-20kHz that can be repeated as necessary, a sweep, pink noise, & white noise that can be played on a standard CD player as I have a couple of 2ch rigs and don't feel like dragging around my DVD player from rig to rig.
Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe that Parts Express has these type of CDs, but I'm not sure. I seem to remember seeing a few different ones while leafing through a catalog the other month :-)
