RTA 12Bs For Sale $200

One pair of RTA 12Bs for sale in Madison Wisconsin, pick up only please*. They are in great condition with almost no cosmetic flaws. The color would probably be like the Paradigm Rosewood color (go online to Paradigm and you can see what I mean). I have the original instruction manual and I think I have my original receipt too ($1,000 from Happy Medium on State Street if I remember correctly). The "hats" are in great condition, and about the only thing wrong is that 3 of the 4 little plastic tabs that protrude from on top of the speaker to hold the hats in place are cracked in half. Looks like 2 of those 3 of those are still in place and can be easily fixed or replaced with a small dowel or the like. Anyway, enough on that. These speakers have been here in my house since 1987 which probably accounts for their condition. If possible, I'll sell these to one of you Polkies. If that doesn't work out I'll toss 'em up on Craigslist in Madison and Milwaukee. By the way, I can probably audition them too if you want to hear them first.

* If you just have to have these and you are not local, maybe Mailboxes Inc. could box and ship them, but that would be on you dime.

Posting pictures would help tremendously with your sale. Good luck."Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." Bob Seger

Pictures will definately help. Any scratches in the cabinet and how's the condition of the corners? Good to see Wisconsin polkies popping up.
Thanks -
I always wanted a pair of these....

Come on guys, I bought these new! That ALONE should date me, giving you enough information to discern that I'm way too old to figure out how to get digital images onto this web from my IBM 5150 PC running Wordstar! I CAN say that all the corners and edges are in great shape, there are no scratches on the cabinets, the grills have no tears or holes...the hats aren't sagging. If one of you guys are seriously interested, I might comply, but only after serious whining.

Well, you are confirming peoples suspicions, you have few post and not willing to provide pics.
Not a good way to start off, probably too late to sell even with pics unless there is a long time polkie here to vouch for you.
Looks like you came to sell then leave.

Look guys, my last post was tongue in cheek. Yes, I could figure out how to upload the digital images, but I figure a LOCAL Polkie would show up anyway so why screw around with that if a local sale is likely? I would literally be dollars ahead if I just had tossed them on Craigslist, which I now have or dropped them at St. Vinnie's and took the charitable deduction, instead of **** around with this. The only reason I'm here was to give some nutty vintage Polk speaker fan the chance to own them, and because I'm a bit nostalgic. So what if I'm a bit lazy! I post under my full name, and anyone with a browser can find me so, if I'm trying to burn somebody I'm going about it in an awfully stupid way, right?
If they don't sell soon, I'll figure out how to post some pictures. In the meantime, I'll say it again: cosmetically they are top-shelf. -
Post the pics, dude. Trust us.
Good luck w/the sale."Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." Bob Seger -

You could be the most honest guy in the world.(admitting you're too lazy to post pics was a start) But that's not the way it works here. -
