It seems like the Benchmark Dac1 is proabably the way to go...but the price is more than I'm willing to spend right now.

The problem is we all use this logic, and it ends up costing us more than if we just bought the right equipment the first time. I have a garage full of speakers, AVRs, DVD players, and CD players that attest to that.

Buy the Benchmark now and be done with it. Otherwise, a few months from now you will still be buying it, but after already spending money on a less capable DAC.

And then after you get a DAC you can start looking for a re-clocker for jitter reduction.:D

The Benchmarks have jitter reduction, but nearly as good a something like the Empirical Audio Off-Ramp3 - a steal at $999.

I found it...OK now I will start saving up. It is expensive but I think it will be something that I will have for a long time...
I think this is what I have been looking for.

    The Brick.

It will be interesting to see how many people here will disagree with the statements on this website.
