Polk Audio R50 Tweeter Question

I currently have a set of R50's paired with a CS1 and two Monitor 30's in my HT. I am pretty happy with the speakers for what I paid, but they seem to be lacking in the upper range. I was wondering if anyone has tried replacing the R50's tweeter with a tweeter from the newer Monitor series speakers. I understand that engineers spend countless hours designing a crossover for each speaker but I thought it might be a cheap way to try and timbre match all of the speakers. I eventually plan on replacing the R50's with a monitor series floorstander or going to a complete RTI setup. Any thoughts are appreciates.
