Question ??? on SACD

....does the laser read SACDs in a Sony DV-45A player or does the internal DAC have something to do with it. Want to KNOW if it is better to send audio out to MSB Link III dac or use the internal dac's of Sony.

    As far as I know, there are NO outboard DACs that read SACD.

    SACD uses DSD. There are a few DSD Dac's but your MSB is probably not one of them.

    The MSB is PCM only.

    The laser reads it,then it gets sent to a DSD decoder IC then to the internal DAC.HummDV-45A isn't that a Pioneer model#?The only way DSD data can be sent to an external DAC is via HDMI.It cannot be done with coax or toslink.

    ....Thank you Guys for reply. Yes, it is a Pioneer deck. Nice to know. The SACD player is in a separate HT system comprised of cast offs.

    Denon AVR-882 - receiver
    Pioneer DV-45A - SACD/DVD player
    DCM - QES's - front spkrs (1979 vintage)
    Definitive Tech c100 - center
    Definitive Tech Prosub 100 -sub
    Paradigm something surrounds

    ...Dark Side of the Moon, the second cut with the "Bells" and chimes.....still blows me away!!!!!!
