I am looking at a velodyne spl 12bv. I cannot find reviews or anything on this unit. The only thing I have found is on ebay, 1 unit that just sold for $849.00

Anyone know anything about this sub?
When I do searches, the 1200 come up but, on ebay the 1200 R go for 700$.

I have a Friend that is getting rid of a 12bv and I was thinking of picking it up but, i cant find any info on it or even know what to offer him. He saw the one on the bay that just went for 849 seems a little high for a 8 year old sub?

I will be using this for HT and some concert DVD's. medium size room.

Thanks for the help

I forgot to add the ebay link where he saw it go for $849

Now it says 1200 ... so is the 12 and 1200 the same thing? If so, wouldn't I be better off getting a new one for close to the same price?

The other sub I was looking at was a outlaw audio LFM 1 plus or ex either one.

    Thanks

It's a model variation on the SPL line...check with Velo or their site to find out the feature set. I think $849 is a bit much for a used one if the 1200R (new model I believe) can be had for $700.00.

I thought the same thing. That is why I am asking. Is there a difference on why the older version is selling for that kind of $.

I was going to buy it from him but, if i can get a new one cheaper then used...... Unless there is something more special on the older version from 91?

Velo is still selling the R version, but it looks like that bv was an original 1200 prior to the Series II which predated the R. Neither the Series II or the original 1200 had the auto-eq which is a nice feature.
