Does anyone plan on seeing this movie?

I know it's a remake, and many people hate remakes. I on the other hand really enjoy some of them. And this movie is made by the same person that remade the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, and i really enjoyed those. I'm kind of a horror junkie though, and will watch almost any horror movie.

I love the old ones...I wasn't even aware they were making a new one.

I've always been a big fan of horror movies...especially the classics like Friday the 13th.

Is this coming out tomorrow I take it? Being as tomorrow is Friday the 13th...lol

To say the least. These Monitor 7A's have a ridiculous amount of bass output:D...I'm not even using my sub for the most part anymore. It just get's drowned out by the 7's...and makes it sound worse really.

I have the other two Jurassic Park movies on DVD...and those are the next two movies in line on my stack, so they're up next. I've always loved the JP movies...they're great for pushing surround sound, and are just great movies period for that matter.

Can't argue with you there! :D
I should watch them on my system and see how they sound.

I particularly like the scene in JP3 where the Tyrannosaurus and the Spinosaurus are fighting each other...there are some really great surround affects when they're swinging their heads back and forth. The bass in that scene will shake your house apart too...

funny, I was just about to say it can't suck too bad since it's a Michael Bay :D

I happen to like a lot of his movies. Yeah, they're over the top, but you know what you're getting going in...

By the way, here are a few Michael Bay flicks:

    Transformers
    The island
    Bad Boys
    Bad Boys 2
    Pearl Harbor
    Armageddon
    The Rock

He's done some other smaller movies and such, but those are all the big projects he's directed. While none of those may be Oscar caliber movies, there's not a movie on that list that 'sucks'

Curt I thought you were in your early 20s how could you possibly have a VHS tape of JP? Let alone a Hifi VCR?

    Just kidding.

Yeah...I am in my early 20's which means that I was around when DVD's first really started coming around. Granted I was only 11-12 or so at that point...lol...

I never even had a DVD player until I was like 16 or so...so I managed to accumulate a pretty big collection of VHS tapes before that. I probably have somewhere around 250 or so.

Hifi VCR? Shiiiit...I just bought a new VCR like 6 months ago...lol It's pretty nice too.;)

    Transformers - ok movie
The Island - started out good, then slowly got worse as the movie progressed
    Bad Boys - good
Bad Boys 2 - horrible, didn't even finish watching it
Pearl Harbor - same as above
    Armageddon - border line ok
    The Rock- good

    and his others

The Hitcher - pretty bad to make an ok movie horrible
The Unborn - 2 girls 1 cup was more palatable than this heaping pile of ****
    The Amnityville Horror - subpar
Texas Chainsaw Massacre- only thing good about it is Jessica Biel

mock version of the dark knight by michael bay, now that is hilarious, sad thing is if he was tapped to produce/direct it, it would be close to that screenplay

I compare all movies of this genre to "Halloween"....A true classic. IMO none of the Friday the 13th movies (or the Halloween sequels) lived up to the original.

I like some of Michael Bay' stuff for it's "over the top" action...but I don't see it as playing well with the Friday 13th genre (at least as I invision it). Not a fan of the Chainsaw movies either. My guess is this movie will be nothing more than a continuation of string of the orginal concept copies with a little more action. Definitely not a "go see" for me and at best a "maybe rental" down the road.

If anyone is up for a laugh, check out the fake Michael Bay twitter feed : http://twitter.com/michael_bay

Just random ridiculous things, kinda like Chuck Norris facts.

    For example
    - I had Lamborghini doors installed on my house. Including double ones that lead to the bedroom.
    - What's the hardest thing about launching a flaming killer whale over an Airbus A380?
    - Whatever happens, I am going to win the Super Bowl.
    - Spent the last 36 hours beating the ever loving hell out of some pre teens at a community spelling bee. Donated 100k to enter. Worth it.
    - I can squat a Smart Car.

    You get the idea.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

+ 1 for Halloween. The John Carpenter Classic is what all slasher movies are compared to, and none of them really measure up. I don't like horror movies in general but I'll see anything Carpenter does. He's had his share of duds but I still enjoy the feel of his movies. As for Michael Bay, I'm not a fan but each to his own.
