Ok Dudes,
I am trying to get my father in the 21st century. He wants a DVD player and will only spend $200. So many players out there. He does not need progressive scan. I looked on Crutchfield and they have a Onkyo DV-SP500 on sale. Any suggestions???
Thanks,
Nat

For less than that I'd go with the Panny RP62 or JVC XVS502.

I agree with wlrandall on the Panasonic RP-62. I have it for interlaced play. It replaced a very good Toshiba that I've moved to another TV. Great picture and all the bells and whistles you would want. Best Buy has the RP-62S (silver) for $129. I bought it with a $10 Gift card I got from a DVD promo and Best Buy's preferred cutomer 10% off weekend discount so I got it for $106. Best Buy had a $25 rebate in Jan. but I don't know if it is still in effect. This player also does progressive if your father ever buys a HDTV set."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

I found some RP82's in Canada for $265US, spend the extra $, you'll be glad you did!
