Sad it came to that. I just had a conversation at the local head-fi
meet about a headphone amp maker that was sitting on orders for over a year. BIIIG dollar orders. It's a shame. Unlike the headphone amp guy,
Klaus normally comes through. But still, a little communication goes a
long way to avoid trouble. I never could understand why let something
fester when a call or email would set things right.

I wouldn't buy anything from him anyways but that's just me.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I think I ruffled a few feathers and even got a phone call from the man himself. Wish I knew then what I know now. Also wished I listened to you guys back in the day.

I made a VERY similar post a while back and received similar responses. But I wasn't quite as eloquent as you in the wording.

But I have yet to have any issues with my Odyssey gear --- just the run around on receiving products. So I have decided to stick with used gear
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

As for Odyssey. Well, I have some thoughts - which I will keep off of a public forum.

That seems to always be the case, what powers of silence does Klaus have?
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

Personally, my Odyssey gear has performed flawlessly with no need for repair. I am the second owner and Klaus took the time to treat me as if I was the first owner. While some may not like his gear, I could care less. Water off a duck's back.

He's got great gear and for what I'm implementing it for, it's perfect. I have never had any issues getting a hold of him and like I said, even though I'm not the original owner and "technically" he owes me not one damn thing. Yet he has offered me the courtesy and time that he did not owe me to get what I needed done.......well, done.

It sounds like this new poster is a spoiled........well, let me stop there. I'll just say that with a newbie, nothing surprises me. I just discard what he/she has to say and I move on. I for damn sure ain't gonna get worked up over something I know is bogus.

Klaus, like a lot of other small audio guys, spends most of his time
tinkering around. He really works at doing a good job. But he like's to
work in the shop rather than do business. There's an up and down side
to that. Good product at a good price. Damn hard to get hold of.
Deal with it or move on to mainstream products. End of story.
Klaus isn't about to change now. I've thought about his stuff more
than once. And this really doesn't change my veiw much.
There's better support out there. But you're gonna pay more for it
    up front.

I don't know about any power of silence. There's no way possible he could do it, not with the way we chat about all things audio.

I do know that three members of this forum [Mr. AL Chaps, TroyD and now apparently Mr. Zero] have had words or thoughts that I am interested in hearing about Klaus' amps. In some instances I have asked why they think the way they do with no reply. I don't ask to offend or demean any company publicly, I ask because I am genuinely interested in why his amps don't float their boat.

It's a legit question. I'm simply inquiring. Folks bash even the Polk products on this website. That is why I don't understand why they wouldn't give any input [positive OR negative] about Klaus' amps.

I'll be the first to bash the hell out of my rig while others consider it very musical or outstanding amongst the crowd. I don't get why folks won't offer some real info. on stuff that they don't desire. What I'm asking is....

    Why?

What is it about Klaus' amps that doesn't rock your boat?

I have no axe to grind with the man and I don't own any of his products. From what I read, I probably will never own any. Where there is smoke there is usually fire. Your only as good as your customer service. One negative experience can turn off a lot of potential customers. Being inaccessible and non communicative doesn't help his image. He may be a nice guy and very competent. If he doesn't do well for his customers, they will disappear quickly. I wish him luck, his small business practices may be helping and hurting him. Good luck Klaus!

I hate new posters on forums, especially ones who are spoiled and don't work hard for a living. They're usually just noobs with no credentials.

On the other hand, perhaps he had a different experience? Must have been a doozy too . . . holy sheisst he has the same system as me???

Aw, you can almost see the influence of law class in the posts Solid. Cute stuff.

As for Odyssey. Well, I have some thoughts - which I will keep off of a public forum. Rock on.

Thanks, I think your writing's cute too. You should read my law review articles on Mexican gangs in Texas. I wonder who would win a fight. Odyssey Fanboys or the Tejano?

I don't think that poster on Audiocircle is any newb; far from it, IMO.

Seems like he's voicing what others don't have the cajones to say publicly. A champion for the downtrodden, someday folk songs will be sung about him whilst fair maidens pine.

If he stopped there, he'd be the stuff internet legends are made of. Now, if he were to go around chest thumping......

Thanks man, trust me. I have no other words at this point but feel very content that I said what I needed to.

    Bingo to both of you.

I don't care how good a product is, if the CS is bad you will promptly lose me as a customer.

Sounds like he needs to make a choice either stay in the lab & let someone else handle the CS end of it or just get out all together. But stringing people along & poor communication will eventually put him out of business anyway.
