Csi5 tweeter mod?

I have 7.1 HT with LSi15, CSi5, Fxi5 and FXi3. I am driving all of them with an Outlaw 770 amp (200wpc).

I wanted to replace the CSi5 with an LSiC. If the timbre is based on the tweeter, would replacing the tweeter and maybe the xover in the CSi5 be a possible alternative. The mid/woofer is larger than the LSiC anyway and space is not an issue.

Any thoughts or challenges?

Thanks

Any technical reasoning for your opinion? I am also in the Chicago-land area and bought my speakers at the now defunct Tweeter. It seems that the higher end LSi series are no longer available locally out here in the suburbs and I am not sure that the cost difference is worth it after I sell my Csi5

The ring tweeter (XT25TG30-04) is only $41.00/ea and I would bet that the current crossover is close enough to work.

I am open to suggestions and comments such as yours and I appreciate your input.

I'd sell the CSi5 and get the LSiC myself. The tweeters aren't the only aspect of a speaker that makes them voice matched...it is basically the biggest factor in timbre-matching...but the mid-woofers in the LSi series also have a different sound than the mid-woofers in the CSi series. The LSi's are much better overall speakers too...you'd really be better off going with the LSiC.

But of course, you're the only one that can make the decision.

What they said:) Guys do you think he would have any luck on the Polk ebay store?
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

    Good suggestion.

Keep your eye on Polk Directs ebay store. They don't appear to have any LSiC's in stock right now, but keep your eye on them...their stock is changing every day.

Thanks for all of your input. I just picked up a LSiC form e-bay today. If it works, I will put my CSi5 up for sale.

Nice. You'll be happy with the LSiC.

Depending on when you put that CSi5 up for sale...I may be interested in it, just to let you know. I'm looking to get a CSi5 here pretty soon...;)
