Boost for mp3 signal?

I was wondering if there is such a device that would boos the signal on the output of an mp3 player (like an iPod/whatever) so that it will play louder through my AVR? Currently, using the mini-jack to RCA cable, my mp3 player does not get very loud even with the volume on the mp3 and AVR all the way up. (don't worry, I only did this for a split second to see if it had any affect). I like the versatility of hooking up the mp3 player to my system but it just doesn't get loud enough to make it worth it.
Thanks for any help!

digital connections are much louder. Try finding some kind of dock with digital outputs. I use my appleTV and it works awesome for being able to stream all my itunes music in applelosslessPro-ject RM-9.1 w/ Grado Sonata 1 -> USP-1 -> RPA-1 -> Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grands -

SACD huh? That's helpful.
By the way, I checked out your youtube video of your SDA's and they sounded pretty buzzy. You might want to fix that.... (just messing with you by the way)HT

A dock with a line out will be louder than the minijack, but really the analog output on anything intended to be used with headphones is weak. There are liability issues if you sell a product that makes the customers go deaf.

Thanks bigred7078 and SEH. Guess I'll try to find a good dock. That makes a lot of sense about the liability issue too.HT
