The original Dirty Harry was the BEST, because of WHERE & WHEN it took place.

    Just such a great contrast!

My personal favorite was Unforgiven. All of the Dirty Harry's were good, with the first one of course being the best. Gran Torino was also pleasantly entertaining. A common one not listed that I particularly liked is In the Line of Fire.

Don't forget "Beguiled", released in 1971 after "Misty and before "Dirty Harry" This movie was critically acclaimed and Clint's acting was one of his better efforts in his younger days. You don't see this movie around much because it doesn't have the action that most of his '70's flicks had. Check out the Wikipedia link Here Good movie!!

Yes! Great movie. Clint as a wounded civil war soldier, taken in by a half-way house for expectant mothers'. Yes? Been awhile since i saw it, cant remember the exact plot.

Ha Ha, Though corny,( especially the very forgetable Sondra Locke, Clint's girlfriend at the time, Yeesh!) Found the "Every which way but loose" flick's entertaining in a pinch. ( I request a last cigarette before you open fire LOL.)

"Unforgiven" and "Dirty Harry" have to top my list.

"Play Misty for Me" hasn't held up over the years for me. Maybe it's because I've heard, "The First Time Every I Saw Your Face" (by Roberta Flack) approximately 7,482,685 times after the movie was released and I now officialy hate it.

BTW: "Play Misty For Me" is the film showing at a movie theater seen at the beginning of Dirty Harry.

"Heartbreak Ridge" wasn't a big one for me, either, but Clint gets a free pass on any movies he's made due to "Unforgiven" and "Dirty Harry".

High Plains Drifter. For one reason, I was there, at Mono Lake when the town was painted red. One of my most memorable experiences ever.

Always's liked "Joe Kidd" (1972) Clint starred opposite Robert Duvall, and John Saxon. Good entertainment, also liked the lesser known Don Strouds' character.

Pale Rider, which hasn't been mentioned. I don't think anyway, is another decent western for Clint. The idea of a Preacher/Gunfighter is classic.

    Preacher/Gunfighter with a twist...He was a Ghost

"The Stranger" in "High Plains Drifter" may also be a ghost. Eastwood a fan of Japanese cinema, High Plains comes across like Samurai/Ghost story.
