I recently acquired a set of SDA SRS 2.3's in excellent condition
from another club member, Cardinals-1, and I am Loving them!

The really good part was Cardinals-1 delivered them to me.

They are the early version with the MW6513 donut drivers and they
are indeed in excellent condition, very well taken care of by the
previous owner. I did find one of the SL2000 tweeters to be non-
functioning due to the magnent shifting off-center during transit,
but no big deal I've posted for another in the "wanted" section.
Temporarily, I switched one of the tweeters from my Monitor 10B's
and the 2.3's are now fully functioning. I'm very impressed by
the extra bass produced by the 15" passives and the extra depth of
the overall soundstage as compared to my SDA-2B's with XO upgrade.

I've already ordered the parts for the XO upgrade (Sonicaps, Dayton
and Mills), but think I'll wait until mid summer after acclimation to
the stock/original speaker sound to see if Ben62670 is up for performing
his magic on the XO upgrade.

I looked in my copy of Darqueknight's SDA Compendium, but did not find
any reference to how the individual tweeters and drivers frequency response
is divided by the crossovers. Does anyone have this information?

Man...is this a great forum or what?!!!

I do think you guys are a BAD influence though
as you're leading me down that slippery slope!

Nice pickup! Don't forget to read up on the benefits of using sound dampening (Dynamat and Mortite) to the metal driver baskets and the mounting flanges that connect to the front baffle. This $25 tweak with amaze you on how much clearer the mid range becomes and the weigh of the SDA sound contribution become a little wider and heaver. Definitely produces a wider sound stage presentation.
