Is there a good sonic upgrade for the 7c or leave as is? Why is most all speakers today made ported? I think the bass sounds much better from an inclosed speaker. What is your thinking on this. One more thing i don't get. Why no more SDA speakers? thank you. Mike. :confused:

    Welcome to the club. A lot of people upgrade their crossovers and tweeters . People these days want a smaller compact speaker. Not everyone likes the size of the big sda's

    In modern times, humongous speakers like the SDA's wouldn't sell enough to justify making them. The only people who would even be interested in them would be devoted audiophiles(i.e. Club Polk members). People these days want tiny speakers that are heard, not seen. The SDA's do have their disadvantages in that respect though. 1.2TL's are roughly 5 feet tall, and weigh about 185 pounds...they aren't exactly compact. They would be to much of a niche item...and wouldn't be in their best interests. That's what the used market is for though. SDA's are still widely available in the aftermarket.

    Many people have upgraded the crossovers and tweeters in their speakers before. I have a pair of Monitor 7A's that will possibly be getting some XO mods later this year.

    Search the forum, there are several threads with info about XO/tweeter mods.
