Denon 689 or 789 for bedroom?

Hi guys:

At last I have my Marantz SR6003 in my living room with my Polks and all the the other speakers, but yesterday I went to Circuit City, and they have the Denon 689 for $259, and the Denon 789 for $389.

I use my PS3 in the living room, and also have a Memorex BluRay Player.
I can put or the PS3 or Memorex in the bedroom, but I want to decide which receiver. I know the 789 has TrueHD, and DTS-MA, the 689 dont, but Im not sure if the 689 can pass audio thru HDMI so I can have the benefit of TrueHD from PS3. Not always in the manufacturer's sites says the exact specs for the receiver. For example in the Denon site says it has 2 HDMI inputs, and the truth is that it has 3 HDMI Ports. Im wondering if its a switch or repeaters......

Im thinking for bedroom a 5.1 system. I already have 7.1 in livingroom.
Because its for bedroom I dont need too much power, and probably I have to use Toslink for audio.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

I'd go with the 789, because I'm pretty sure any lower model will not pass AUDIO through its HMDI...So even though the PS3 will decode you can't send the LPCM through the 1.3 HDMI video on the 689 or 589?

Also the 1909 (789 twin) has gotten the nod over the Onkyo 606 in at least one Hifi mag.

Yeah it's more expensive. But what can 'we' do?

I was actually gonna get the 789 but I went with the onk606 also because of the price, and because of what it decodes and passes through and up-converts, I believe the 889 is the Denon that has all the bells and whistles. Wish my circuit city's were still here with stuff in them. All cleared out already.

Among other things I have an Onkyo 605 which I like a lot. But as far as the Denon AVR 789 vs. the Onkyo 606. The 789 gets the nod for being able to upconvert to 1080p whereas the 606 only does 1080i. The 606 has an extra HDMI but both units decode HD-sound formats through those 1.3 HDMIs. The Onkyo is usually available for about a 100 dollars less--so it's the value buy.
