Painting A polk cs1 speaker

I want to get the polk cs1 center speaker but Maple is the only color that available to buy.
My question is, if I buy the maple is it easy to paint them black to match my Polk T90e?

    I don't see why a little sand paper and black paint wouldn't do the trick, but you may want to wait for better advise from someone who may have actually accomplished this already.
