The 3.1TL's have a pretty good BIN price

They don't come up for sale very often.

Yes, but what do they sound like compared to the rest of the SRS's?

That,I can't tell you...There are a few members here that can,I'm sure they will chime in .

I've always liked the narrower cabinets, and the overall appearance of them.

Hi,as far as I am aware there were only 2 pairs of 3.1tls and 1 pair of 1.2tls ever sold way down here in New Zealand.I have been lucky enough to own both! The 3.1 as you are aware is much smaller than the 1.2tls',but this is an advantage for a lot of people as they work in a lot more rooms.Like all of the SDA SRS they have huge power handling capabilities ,but you can achieve great results from a high quality amps over 100watts perchannel. The famous SDA soundstage isnt as wide and deep as the bigger models but still there ready to blow your mind!I found that the tweeter was a lot more forgiving of the electronics used than the 1.2tls,Im guessing because there is only 1 per cabinet and NO tweeter protection. These speakers just dont exist down here,I regretted having to sel my 3.1tls(kids and a mortage!) and waited for 16 years to buy the 1.2tls when they popped up for sale. You guys are so lucky that they come up for sale as often as they do over there. If youve got the room buy ,and NEVER sell them!Unless you can buy some 1.2tls to replace them of course!

+1 to what Goth Child said. It was the 3.1's that first caught my attention while wandering through a Mom & Pop stereo store in KC back in 1989-90. I had owned dozens of various speaker in the year prior but the SDA's just blew me away. They had them set up in a very small room with a Carver amp. Anyway, in the larger room they had the 2.3's which I eventually bought but the 3.1's were outstanding.
