$300 shipped with a pair of my Silver IC's. I need to sell. Minor scratches in the top left cover in a small area. Great analog section. I wouldn't let this go yet, but I have to get rid of something:( It's a very solid dynanamic unit that was Adcom's top of the line DAC. They went for $1000 new.
Ben

* Both single ended RCA and balanced XLR outputs
* Pacific Microsonics HDCD decoder/filter
* UltraAnalog AES receiver module
* Dual Burr Brown 20 bit DA converter
* Class A biased, direct coupled analog output stage
* Toroidal transformer used for audio section
* Independent transformer for digital section
* Features an AES/EBU input in addition to the usual coaxial and optical inputs.

I got this from a fellow Polkie. Here is his thread.

    Great price for a great DAC. I just bought an amp so I'm tapped. I shouldn't even have spent the money on the amp :p.

    Thanks H9. I do really hate to see it go. I has that Adcom punch and the sweet details of vocals like Allison Kruass's lips parting between notes, but I have to let it go. I am dreading having to go back to my cheap Sony source, but I have a DIY DAC that I should be able to get going soon...

    EDIT: Ok, maybe not. Looks like I need more posts to PM. Could we exchange numbers or email or something somehow?

    Hrmm... Sorry to double post (seems the edit button phases out after a certain time), but how would the DAC on this unit compare to that of the GTP-830 or GTP-750 or GDD-1 which are comparably priced in the used market?

    No comparison............the GDA700 is superior in every way.

    H9, when did your wish come true? Just saw your Alpeh 30 in the signature :-)

    Ben, did you replace the NE5532's in the GDA700 with opa2134?

    Well, I preemptively made an offer on Audiogon for a GTP-830 so if he doesn't accept within 2 days, I will definitely buy this. I will let you know. Thanks!

    The OpAmps are stock. I haven't done any mods to this unit. I could if someone were interested...

    Slight detour Ben.............very recently took delivery Monday of this week. Found a good deal with a solid seller and pulled the trigger. What a fantastic piece. I'll be making a dedicated post shortly about my impressions.

    My camera flat out sucks. There is a pic of the unit in the link in the first post. The scratches were very minor, and I touched them up with a sharpie.

    I remembered you started a thread on that but didn't see the conclusion. So, I asked. Sorry, I apologize for the off topics (both this and the A30 with H9), my friend.

    Cool. I guess I could always spray paint them away if they are surface scratches...

    There is no need to spray paint the finish is fine. I just feel its proper to mention any flaws.
