Hi guys...

:)Wanted to see if there is any interest in having a limited (10 sets or less)matched pair of monoblock tube amps made exclusively to power The SDA line of speakers... I am not selling or offering to sell anything... I am in contact with a guy that has the ability to create works of art that will be custom built to take advantage of the full capabilities of the SDA...:D

If there is interest perhaps we as a group can do something. These amps will probably be among the most desired amps of all time...........

    Interest - sure

What is this feature that will take advantage of SDA?

Got any idea of the cost?

    Specs?

    Who is this builder?

VERY thin on information if you want serious interest.

    Russ
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

info is very thin... I understand that. I dont want to get ahead of the horse on this to much. I will be talking to him again soon and when I do I will be able to give more details
Sufice to say that they will be the stuff of legend. for now I only need to be able to show there is interest in such a project. specs will be more than commensurate with the needs of the speaker. As far as the builder... Imagine being able to commission Michelangelo to paint YOUR house... More details will follow but for now just need to see if there are at least five of us wanting to do this.... there are a couple people on this forum that know who I have been talking to... please say nothing about who he is until I can be a bit more specific on details...

Well from what I gathered from info I received about this project is that he may be able to do some serious tube work here. Folks are understanding that it is a one off dual mono strap-able design that will work very nicely with SDA's. Bob is one of the guys like MP that truly loves audio:) I know for a fact there are plenty of guys that I know are craving more quality tube watts for SDA's.

    Oh...Sh#tttttt

The search result was there when I found it. I even read it and look at the story. The seller said that he got this old new stock ribbon under warranty from the seller he bought it from.

I think the link was expired when u try to send email to the seller and bounced back. Now, the link was taken down by craigslist and no longer works. I guess the guys from Carver forum may have a solution for you since I think Toy Maker has ability to create ribbons close to the ones came with ALS.

Edit: not sure why the link is not working, but the ad is there on Cincinnati's Craiglist.

These are the tube amps that Bob Carver has been building lately. I have listened to them and can say they sound very good.

I would also be in and could think of nothing cooler. I love Bob Carver and would love to meet him! Those amps look pretty sweet given the ad, but that must mean we are talking 5K range?

Since you've been talking to Bob, does that mean you live up here in the land of Carver?
