Hey guys, was looking at this unit to dedicate to 2 channel listening, cd's, i-pod, and the like. Any opinions on this idea, or this product? Thanks much.

Outlaw sells good gear. I have heard mostly good things about this unit. I think a couple of folks here on the fourm have one and like it."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

I have owned this receiver for over a year and I'm very pleased with it overall. It has a sound quality a notch above the HK3490, which I also own. The RR2150 is used in my 24' x 15' living room and is not lacking in power. I currently use it to drive Monitor 70s, supplemented by an Epik 330W 15" subwoofer. What I did find is that the subwoofer outout jack's signal level was a tad too low for my taste, even with the monster subwoofer. I had previously tried the same setup with a 12" velodyne subwoofer and had the same results. What I ended up doing was to run "Speaker B" full signal directly to my sub, so for true 2 channel sound I am not losing any connections. I prefer not rolling off the lower frequencies signal on Polk floor standing speakers because of their tremendous detail in the lower midrange and upper bass, I don't want to detract from any of that.
I use the USB input on the RR2150 all the time so I can preview tunes from my computer through the stereo. The USB on the computer immediately recognizes the device as a simulated sound card and it works flawlessly.
The other thing I can say is the FM tuner blows away the tuner in the HK3490. I can pull in stations without any noise that the HK can barely hear in mono mode.
Although the power rating of the RR2150 states 100wpc at 8 ohms and 160 at 4 ohms, which is less than the stats of the HK3490 at 120 wpc at 8 ohms, in my opinion the RR2150 still delivers more clean power. I use the HK3490 for a bedroom rig with Polk Monitor 60s and use the RR2150 with Polk Monitor 70s for the living room. Both are a great fit, both quality and decibels. I don't think I've ever turned up the RR2150 with CD input beyond the 9:15 setting.
On the other hand, the HK3490 requires that you purchase their custom "Ipod Bridge" dock, but does not have any way to go direct to your computer unless you want to use some cheap analog out from your computer.Living Room system: 52"HDTV, 4 Mon.70s, Epik Valor, Outlaw RR2150
