So are there any Ford truck guys here at Club Polk?

I have a 2006 F-150 XLT 4x4. I love the body style of 04-08 F-150's and they are without a doubt my favorite trucks on the road, i wouldn't buy any other!

These are some of the things i've put on my truck so far.

2.5" Autospring leveling kit
Tires - BFG AT KO's 305/65/18
Wheels - Pro Comp 7005 (18x9, 0 offset, 5" Backspacing)
Exhaust - Magnaflow 14" SI/DO w/Magnaflow 4x18" rolled tips
Black Powder Coated Billet Gas Cap (not in pictures yet)
Black 12" stubby antenna (not in pictures yet)

I'm getting some Harely Davidson Edition F150 head lights and tail lights to replace mine. I think the black reflectors will go great with the theme i have going.

I'd like to get a new grille, and a black bull bar with some off-road lights, still undecided on this though, but considering it.

I also want to get CAI (cold air intake) and an XCAL programmer with custom tunes. Those things have great reviews on my F150 forums and really wake the engine up even more.

Then i want to regear the truck with 4.56's, and eventually throw a 6" Fabtech suspension lift on it.

Oh and of course, i want to put a nice audio system in truck. I'm thinking of getting one of the new Pioneer double din head units. Still researching exactly which one i want, as well as which speakers, amp, and subs. I don't like that loud boomy crap you here all the kids driving around with though, not my style. I just want some nice clean, tight, punchy bass for my metal listening pleasure. :D

Audio and video are not my only costly hobbies, my truck also loves to suck up some of money, all well worth it though in my opinion though! :D

jStas is your man...but I think he is more of a Ford Ranger guy. Maybe I am mistaken though.

Nice truck BTW. The wheels look perfect with that color.

    Im a 2004 Ford F150 XLT 4x4 owner myself...

List of the things Ive done...

    Chrome Door Handles + Tailgate
    Bed Rails
    Hard Cover Cover (Bakflip)
Cold Air Intake (HUGE difference in performance)
    14" Antenna, black billet
    Chrome surround grill
    Black Headlights
    Black Taillights
    Black 3rd Brake Light
    Chrome Step Plates (Rampage)
Replaced speakers with DB series Polk.

Plan to eventually replace radio with a Navigation/DVD/Back Up Camera system
    Two tone, black/grey leather seats
2" leveling lift in the front
20-22" chrome wheels (when tires get worn)
Dual side exit exhaust (infront of the tires, not behind)
    Subwoofer, of course

I LOVE the truck, hands down. 123,000 - no problems what-so-ever
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Definetly a nice truck man, looks good! Mines got 21,000 miles on it and going strong.

I'm not a huge fan of chrome myself, but it looks great on your truck!
I love your headlights, i can't wait to get my Harley Davidsons, gotta get the black third brake light as well along with them.

I was thinking about getting another bed cover, but i had one on my last truck and it always slowed me down since i use my bed a lot, or maybe i'm just to lazy to open it and like just throwing things in the back lol.

Thanks man - your truck looks manly ;) -- I like sleek I guess haha

But I went with the back flip because it is easy to remove and it locks in 3 different places on the bed (completely seals it from water, dirt, wind) - my MPG went up 2-3, which was huge...

But it is EXTREMELY easy to work around, not to mention it is very discrete...

Awesome on the lights, very easy to install as well... you can get the whole set for around 200 bucks on the bay, shipped to your door...

Yeah, we are just going in different directions with look that's all. That's the great thing about these trucks, so many different things to do to them! I'm going for the rugged off-road look haha.
But i take it off-road a lot when i go fishing as well, so it helps.

Don't you just love the leveling kits (front lifts). I had to get one to clear my tires, but i just love the look of them regardless, get that damn nose up off the ground lol. I love watching my fiancee struggle getting in my truck, haha, she's not looking forward to the 6" suspension lift i want to put on..:p

That sounds like a nice bed cover, if it's that easy to work around i might just consider getting one.

How do you like those Polk speakers you put in your truck?

I'm a Chevy guy myself...but as far as the new trucks go, I think Ford is really the best. I can't stand the way the new Silverado's look. The new Rams are ok looking...but they still don't agree with me completely.

Nice looking truck though. Those wheels go great with it.

Yeah, your truck is definitely a good bit higher than mine, haha ---

I could not even imagine a 6" lift...

As far as the Polks go --- the stock speakers were so bass heavy, they got on my nerves and Crutchfield had a special on the DB series I jumped on...

When I popped them in, the high end was a little better, little cleaner mids, more controlled bass -- but it wasn't like... "WOW" - my girlfriend definitely notice I changed anything. Haha - but I imagine the biggest limitation is the receiver more so than the speakers.

I definitely plan to add dynamat (or equivalent) to the doors to control some rattles (and to the floor and back wall) ---

But yeah, Ive basically replaced my entire exterior except for the bumpers and paint...

One of my window vents broke off a month or two ago --- and Ill probally have to get the other three removed and the paint touched up to put in-channels in. Those stick on window vents were invented by someone who didnt care about their vehicle. For sure. The original owner stuck them on there - not me. But anyways...

I have not done anything yet I have regretted... so that is good.

The best thing though was the intake - it went from being sluggish when passing and accelerating to feeling like it had power.

I've gotta get my audio system going in my rig, i might put that ahead of some of the other things on my list.

When i got my exhaust done, i noticed a decent increase with overall performance. I switched out the factory 2.5" intermediate pipe with a 3" pipe, and i'm two 2.5" tail pipes from the Magnaflow Muffler.

That's awesome about your intake, i need to get one soon! With the intake, custom exhaust, 4.56 gears, and an Xcal 3 with custom tunes, the truck will be a monster in my opinion...ahhh i can't wait to get it all done!

Who every made those stick on window vents needs to be smacked! lol

I haven't regret anything i've done with my truck either, it's my baby!

Ford Trucks are the best IMO. Next year for me but im shooting for a F250. But i really want a Harley and i can't do both at the same time. we will have one of our cars paid off next year and a few bills paid off then i will have to make up my mind, but if i get a Truck over the Harley it will be a Ford.

Nice looking trucks by the way guys. I dig the wheels Metal.

I have a 2005 F150 Lariat with @ 43 k on it. Pretty much stock except for a K&N air filter. I may do the exhaust when it goes up. This is my third F150 since 99 and I do like them a lot. I use them for work and I had 2 for a while, that is the reason why I have had 3 in 10 years, not because of issues.

I have an 05 F-150 XLT Supercab. It's at 28k right now, and I love my truck, but I'm pretty pissed that I have to replace the garbage OEM tires already. I'm usually good for way over the factory milage rating, apperently these Continental tires suck.

I just got back from Costco tire services. 650 bucks later I have some BF Goodrich Long Trail TA's on order.

Yeah...well I bet I have the most heavy duty Ford F-series truck on here.:p

Our chip truck for the tree service I run with my family. It doesn't even have a number designation. It's just an F-superduty. Which is basically the equivalent of being a heavier duty F-550. It's got a 7.3 liter diesel in it, and a 4 speed manual. It runs like a tank, and is slower than hell...lol...I could literally put your F-150 in the back of it, and it probably wouldn't even be sagging that much.:p

According to everything I've been hearing lately though, Ford isn't doing very well now either. None of the Big 3 are right now. People aren't really buying new cars right now.
