I was thinking about adding stabilizers/carpet spikes to My sda-1c's...
any thoughts on if this helps or not/are they even needed? Currently they sit on carpet directly on the floor...:)

Is this carpet over concrete slab or a framed floor? I believe you want to de couple your speakers from a concrete slab but couple your speakers to a framed floor system. Other may chime in, but I have read that a concrete slab can sap the energy out of your speakers.
