Wow...I didn't know that was 40 years ago today. Ironic, because I was just watching the performance of "Don't Let Me Down" on the Beatles Anthology DVD set a few hours ago.

Could you imagine having been walking down the street...and all of a sudden you hear the Beatles playing from a rooftop. That would have been awesome...

Yes...that was their last performance actually. Unfortunately...amazing band.

;)I went and listened to some beatles tonite just for the hell of it thanks to this post... When I got to elanor rigby, I decided to turn up the volume and was completely swept up in the performance. My SDA's made the performance come to life like I have not experienced from a song in a very long time. I was moved to the edge of tears as I listened and became one with the music and remembered what was and that two of those lads from Liverpool are gone way to soon... Thank God for the gift of their music and remember them well...

The last great tsunami of musical influence. Unlike a majority of todays megastars, these guy's weren't hyped out of proportion to their talent.
It's funny when I watch those vid's of that performance. I was SOOOO ingrained in the Beatles, because of my older brother, that I feel as though I knew each member on a personal level, w/out having met them. It's weird.
    They are missed.
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

40 years....man, time goes by so fast.

A couple of years ago I decided to buy a DVD copy of "Let it Be". It was a bootlegged copy since that movie was never released on DVD. Found it on Ebay from someone in St. Petersburg, Russia. It took about a month to get it but it eventually did arrive. The quality wasn't very good but it was better than nothing and the rooftop concert was fantastic. I've been looking all over the house for it the last few days and IT'S GONE!!! Damn!!!

I think when my son and his wife moved away it accidentally got packed up with some of their stuff so I may never find it. If anybody has a copy of the laserdisc release of this movie and can burn a copy to DVD we need to talk! lol
