Has anyone seen Mirrors or Appaloosa?

I've got these two movies in my Netflix queue, but they are in very long wait status and i'm getting impatient. So me and the fiancee might just go to our local Blockbuster since they rent out Blu-rays.

Just curious if anyone here has any input on them, i'll be watching both of them regardless anyways, just wanted to see your opinions.

Mirrors looks pretty good. If Jack can deal with terrorists on a daily basis then he shouldn't have any problem with creepiness that comes out of a mirror...

Have not seen Mirrors(expect it this weekend) but agree with millerman on Appy...was OK at best....glad I didn't dish out $$ at the local theater for it though. Sometimes the wife tries to talk me into taking her just for something different...but their sound sux compared to the home rig...just wish I had the $$ for a big hdtv!:(

If you like westerns you will probably like Appaloosa...it wasn't that bad but wasn't that great either. Can't stand Renee Zellwhatever so that probably didn't help anything. She is really annoying in this one and extra odd looking.

Zellweger is what turned me off the most about Appaloosa, I hated every scene she was in, although I liked the whole law man comes to town and kills every body concept, Zellweger ruined it for me.

I've seen the BDs of both. Unless you're a horror junkie, Mirrors is a waste of 2 hours. Appaloosa, on the other hand, was an excellent small budget western with great characters and acting. RZ, love her or hate her, played the part as written and if you're familiar with Robert Parker dialog and characters, she's a typical female in his universe, meaning she's got character flaws ;). I highly recommend this one if you like Westerns.

Appalossa was big let down, a very rehashed plot we've seen in western after western, average acting and no intense, or gripping sequences in the film. It just kinda started and stopped. I also thought both Ed and Viggo did a much better job in History of Violence then they did here. Renee did a better job then both the guys did.

Well i actually am a "horror junkie", and i'll give most any horror movie a chance.
As far as western's, i love them too, so i'll give those a chance as well.

For the most part i can enjoy a movie even if it's just run of the mill, i'm not extremely critical, but if something sucks that bad and i get restless watching it, then it comes out of my BD player lol.

I just wish Netflix didn't take forever and/or throttle me sometimes!
I only rent new release blu-rays from netflix, so i have this little strategy of making sure i have available slots in my queue on mondays. Because then usually i'll get the new releases in my mailbox on tuesdays, which is the day new releases come out. But if for any reason they don't send me the new release that monday before it comes out, then i'll end up waiting forever!!!

Appaloosa started slowly (and poorly) in my opinion, but I think it picked up a bit at the end. As usual, Viggo turned out to be a badass and Ed Harris acted admirably.

RZ was terrible. Also, as much as I like Jeremy Irons, I didn't think he fit the "westerner antagonist" role very well.

There was some good action here and there, couple good lines (including a bloody Ed Harris saying "Everybody could shoot"), etc. Maybe 5.5 / 6 of 10 in my opinion.

I finally got a chance to watch Appaloosa. Not quite what i was expecting, a little too slow paced for me. It wasn't horrible, but i definitely wouldn't watch it again.

I still haven't watched Mirrors yet though.

Mirrors wasnt my kind of movie, Appaloosa was decent, Ive always liked Ed Harris since the Apollo 13 movie, Viggo did an excellent job IMO. The gunfight between the two brothers and the two main characters was a little weak, but it was a pretty good movie. My wife and I watched Way of War with Cuba Gooding Jr......now that is a waste of time, Cuba couldnt even save that movie. However Madagascar 2 was pretty good though.

Cuba Gooding Jr is basically a low budget actor now a days.
Madagascar 2 wasn't bad, my fiancee loves all of the animated movies, so i'm forced to watch them all..

I enjoyed Apaloosa, the acting was superb and the story twists a bit unexpectantly. Good for conversation afterwards.
Couldn't say about Mirrors never seen it never will.

Yeah, I really like Cuba Gooding Jr though, he is one of the few actors that can pull of being funny as heck, (Boat Trip) and play a serious part such as "Radio". I really hope to see him in better roles. The rentals latley have left a lot to be desired. I think tonight my wife has me watching " Nights in Rodanthe":o

I like Appaloosa, pretty good movie. If you like 3:10 to Yuma then Appaloosa should be ok for you. Not as much action going on, but overall decent movie. I bought it on Blu and yeah I would watch it again. Pretty good PQ/SQ on the BD version. Worth watching, yes I would say so.

I didn't care for Appaloosa, i do like westerns, but found it to be very boring.
I won't say it's horrible, but definitely not time well spent in my opinion.

A lot of people seem to think Mirrors sucked. I suppose i'll find out this weekend for myself.

Just finished Appaloosa. 2 stars at best. Beautifully shot, but SLOOOOOW!!!! I agree that "History of Violence" was a much better movie for Harris and Viggo.

    *Yawn.*

I love western. This one was interesting but quite slow. P/Q and S/Q on blu-ray was very good. Viggo was great but I just can't recommend this flick even as a rental. Just too dang slow.

I saw Appaloosa and I had to read the comments here just to remember what it was about and who was in it, and I like all four of the principal actors.

I wouldn't go out of my way to see it again.
