RT 12 tweeter replacement

Hey guys. First post. Glad to be on board.
I recently bought a set of RT 12's a a secondaty HT system upstairs.
I replaced the black tweeter ( SL5000) with the tri-laminiate (SL6001).
I haven't noticed a "huge" difference, I do need to listen some more to them.
Do tweeter like drivers need to be "broken in"
To my knowledge only the RT16's came with the tri-laminites.
