hey im new at this site and just had a couple of questions. i recently just purchased 2 polk sr124-dvc's and was wondering if i can wire them both at 2ohm loads each to my one 08 kicker zx1000.1 amp resulting in a 1ohm load. Would it be possible, im new at this and wasn't quite sure. I know the parallel wiring is capable resulting in a 4ohm load but then my amp would only be pushing out 500 watts to both subs put together. I want it to be 2ohms each so both of the subs get 500watts each instead of only 250watts each.

Yes - a pair of 4 ohm DVC subs when wired in parallel will result in a 1 ohm load for your amp. Just make sure your amp can handle a 1 ohm load.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

oo kk thnx. I tought it would work just the fact that im not sure if my 08 Kicker zx1000.1 amp is stable at 1ohm loads.

I'd check into that before you wire it up.

yea its not capable of 1ohm. Well another question i got a Alpine PDX1.600 and that runs 600watts at 2 or 4 ohms, so would I be better off just hooking that up at 4ohms since the zx is only pushing out 500 for me at 4 ohms.

no its not, alpine will obviously work better, better on 1 sub alsoPolk MM6501 kick panels, Eclipse cd7200mkll and SW9122 Bomb Box, Cadence A4, A7, CAP5, JL8W3V3

Check out the new Polk Audio PA amps. The PA1200.1 would work perfect with a pair of SR subs. Im running my SR124 off of one right now and its a hoss.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Hopefully this summer I'll be running my 2 SR subs in parallel off of a pa1200.1. I wan't to upgrade my momo amps.
