Does anyone else use an appleTV? Its an awesome product with an extremely slick interface. I can store all my music (in apple lossless) on the internal harddrive or i can have it streaming from my computer to the apple TV. I also use it to rent movies constantly (which you can get in DD 5.1).

But anyway alot of people dont use it because they feel chained to itunes and its limited codec support. Well i came across this new add-on from a company called Boxee and have heard wonderful things about it.

Basically boxee turns your appleTV into the multimedia device it should have been from the beginning. It allows streaming of ALL music formats and video formats. The upside is they dont have to be stored in itunes. You can acess them from any document on your computer through a special interface. It also gives you direct Hulu streaming, so now i can watch TV shows i have missed through the appleTV. It still leaves the awesome appleTV interface intact and just adds another option in the menu. You click on the option to access the Boxee interface.

But yeah i was excited about this so i thought i would let others know if they were not aware :D
