My modest bedroom system.... Pioneer SX-450 receiver with more than enough power to push my Polk 5jr speakers.

Edit- I hope this thread doesn't get moved to the Hall of Shame

    ATC,

Didn't catch this the first time around.

What are you reefering to? Perhaps something in the full pic of his Pioneer?

WTF are you talking about? Because I have a box of matches in my room means I'm a freaking druggie? Sorry if you guys haven't had to burn the trash before.... (yes, I live in rural PA, where burning paper trash is legal  )

Just messing around… wasn’t the matches per se, but the matches + the clothes pin clip, well…

As to the Pioneer comment earlier… same as above… best “stereo” I ever had in my bedroom at home was a Sears portable…, but the speakers could be taken off the hinges to help get that stereo separation and…

Oh, okay.... sorry I misunderstood you. And the clothespin is because if I don't pin the plug for my headphones, the right channel cuts out :-). But I like these headphones and am too cheap to buy a new pair :-). I love my 2ch system.... I wouldn't trade that Pioneer receiver for anything (except maybe a Pioneer SX-1980.... the Big Mama of vintage Pioneer stuff). Anyway, that system used to have a pair of Micro Acoustics 3dx speakers, but I had to remove them due to lack of room.

I really need to get my components cleaned up and put the receiver on the shelf with the speakers, I just threw that system together quick and never finished tweaking the setup (as you can see, the speaker cables consist of two seperate lines that are spliced together.... without electrical tape  )

No apology necessary on your part... That's my job here, didn't mean to "flame" you in accepting what I perceived as an invitation to play:

My apologies for overstepping… One bit I truly enjoyed was seeing a FM tuning meter again…it’s been a while…

Do take 15 seconds to get a piece of electrical tape on at least one of those speaker wire splices…. You really don’t want those two getting together…

We all start somewhere... When you have the means to move on, and decide that just maybe there is something better than your Pioneer... We'll be here...

Meantime enjoy what you have... but at least consider trying some Energizers ;)

... and BTW your next post will be #100....

Lol.... so it is, #100. Seems like I should make this a worthwhile post, but I prolly won't.

The Pioneer isn't my only receiver. I also have a JVC RX558v "surround sound" receiver. I put that in quotes, because it doesn't have the decoder to output stereo to 5.1, so you need to have all of the inputs filled up in order to get the surround sound. At this point in time, my dad doesn't seem interested in getting a DVD player, so for now it's just hooked up to the VCR in 2 channel mode. I'm more into 2ch than HT. I guess it's because I don't have the money to get into some nice Polk surrounds, and that's what I'd want.... Maybe once my dad and I refinish the basement I'll set up some sort of HT.... all depends on if we go for the DVD player.

I guess my scant 100 posts just goes to show that there are people who read more, and post less ;) .
