Would a Yamaha RX-V1800 receiver handle the LSi7's o.k., considering that they are 4 ohm speakers?

    I'm not sure.

A lot of Yamahas can drive 2 front 4 ohm speakers but not the rest of the array. The LSIs are 4 ohms and they need that. As well as a lot of power.

I'd check the manual for the 1800 on Yamahas site and see if they specify being able to drive a full set of speakers at 4 ohms. The 1700 model says that only fronts can be run at 4 ohms, surrounds can be set as low as 6 ohms. But it sounds a bit risky to run, let's say a 5 or 7 LSIs (all 4 ohm speakers)?

    I may check myself.

I just checked the 1800 has the same specs on this....

I should have been more specific. I want to use the LSi7's for the fronts only, in a 5.1 system.
