After 6 1/2 months of unemployment, I finally got some GREAT news about an hour ago. The dealer group I've been "dancing" with since July wants me to take over one of their Chevy stores...General Manager. I have a meeting with the VP tomorrow morning to discuss pay and ****. I'm in such a deep hole, it's gonna take years for me to climb out of it, but I'm just thanking God for a position with a reputable dealer group with deep pockets that can survive through the recession...ooops "economic downturn". They own 10 dealerships and have been around for a long time.

Man I hope the base salary is what I'm expecting......please, please, please!!!!:D

Don't let the fact that you've been unemployed deter you from negotiating for more money if you can justify why you deserve it.

Sometimes all it takes is asking, because it's not uncommon for companies to initially offer lower just to see if you'll bite......

Step one - GET the offer

Step two - negotiate the money

    Don't try 2 before 1 or you'll talk yourself out of one.....capiche?

Sorry man.............I tried to rearrange the schedule. I really wanted to come. A few of us might try to plan a Spring trip to see Ricardo in OH and if we do we'll stop by.

great news!! i myself have a great job, salary is very good, but unfortunatley with bills and such i am barely cutting it..i depended on the OT i used to get(about 600-800 extra every other week) to have as a nice cushion

At this time i dont get any OT because of a little predicament i got myself into and now am being disciplined= no OT..i am just grateful i do still have a job though and know i will be ok in the end, just going to take a while to get back financially where i was before
