Why does everybody love EMOTIVA amps?

I am thinking about buying an emotiva and was wondering why everybody here seems to swear by them. Also thinking about Sunfire... does antone have a preference as to which is better?:)

Emotiva's parent company manufactured a Sunfire pre/pro a few years ago and it was re-badged as an Emo product for many hundreds of dollars less.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Because they're cheap plain and simple. Just think if they were double the price how many people would actually own one compared to the current number.
-
ah.... so thats why my dmc-1 has side axis channels O_O
I dont know if its just cause they are cheap... I called polk and asked for an amp recommendation to replace my B&K 7270 (want more power)... they recommended Emotiva. Apparently they were given a 2 channel emo amp to try and were impressed........ and that has nothing to do with price
not saying that price doesnt make people buy them, but if I bought a $600 piece of ****... i'd be the first to say it -

I don't think there is any question that the combination of price, apparent build quality and raw power are the reasons so many new and veteran audio-nuts have tried their stuff. I'm sure if some other established electronics manufacturer decided to slash all their prices by 50% to get on par with Emotiva, they would be getting tons of buzz too.Mains - Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand

There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

lol...I'm sure that plays a big part in it.
I think they just really fill the bang for the buck category that a lot of people are looking for. If you don't want to get used equipment, Emotiva has some of the cheapest, good performing choices on the market. I've never even heard any of their amps personally, but there are quite a few satisfied customers.
I was thinking about going with emotiva when I make the initial jump to external amps...but I'm getting so tired of hearing about Emotiva 40 times a day, that I think I'm gonna go with something else now...lolThe nirvana inducer-

There's a category of people, called "geeks" (or nerds, take your pick), who won't buy electronics with mainstream names, and then there is the super geek category of people who won't buy things with well-known names in the geek community
No offense intended, I'm sure I've been accused of the same thing, I just think its funny
but don't feel bad! there is always a higher geek category than you...what about the ones who have to mod all their gear? or build it... dear god, look what these forums get you in to. -
A simple, effective design coupled with a solid price is tough to beat up on. The track record seems to be pretty good so far and I think the aesthetics are also pretty nice.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I can give you 3 reasons why I like Emotiva:
#1 Value - Simply unfathomable value. I bought my LPA-1 for $400 + 49 shipping. For under $500 I got 6 channels of solid 125wpc amplification...it sounds sweet - better than some 200wpc did with my RTi10s.
#2 Products - Elegant products that exceed the manufacturer's specs unlike so many other companies (Denon, Pioneer, Sony, etc.)
#3 Information - Emotiva tells us more about upcoming products, updates to products, etc. than any company I know of. Look at how many posts their employees have on their forum!
Don't get me wrong, there are more sophisticated and more expensive products out there..but for the average man (me) Emotiva's products give me a huge taste of the high life at a price I can afford.
And no, I DON'T work for the company. -
Obviously price is a big selling point. They "seem" to represent good value for the money.

And that is truly what it's all about for probably 99.0% of the people who buy their products. To get such a major boost to a system for that kind of money just is hard to pass on.I can give you 3 reasons why I like Emotiva:

Many of us are sick of hearing about them since they're mentioned 100 times a day here. Otherwise, I have no opinion of them since I haven't heard or played with one yet."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster.
