Room size doesn't matter. Just simply are the 9's overkill for surround rears.
Price is $110 difference. I don't have a fancy polly thingy so you can just say whether I should get the 9's or 7's and if you have anything else to say that's wonderful, too.

Thanks!

Unless you're going to listen to SACD's all the time, save the $$ and go for the 7's.

9's are big, and require an amp. 7's are much friendlier IMHO. Yes I know you have an amp, but still...
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Dave, are you talking about surroundback speaks? I use 9 for Surround left/Right, and use FX for surroundback. I had 7 before to serve the duty, and I replaced it with Fx. Reason being the Fx provides me with better coverage of sound effect (i.e. test DVD was SPRyan DTS). The difference was obvious and a lot more engaging compared to the 7. As far as 9 being on my SL and SR, simulcast streaming MP3 and Radio/SAT using DPL IIx is where I find it to be worthwhile to have 9.

as always, YMMV and only my .02.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

7's or FX depending on where you're sticking them.

I use the 9's and honestly, I'm telling you they are overkill. not that they dont do a great job mind you.

I was using the 9's in 2 channel, then when I went the LSi theater route, I just used them for surrounds......I got the 9's at a ridiculous price.

if I were in your shoe's, get the 7's and don't look back

I prefer to have my front and rear fill the same. When listening to the 7 and 9's, I thought they sounded different so I went "overkill" I guess. I could not be happier and wouldn't change it if I had to do it over again.
