Fox news reported that this same aircraft that went into the hudson had a compressor stall in one of the engines two days before the plane went into the river. it diverted back to the airport and landed safely. if this is true then one of the engines should have been replaced. quite possible this plane should have not been in the air in the first place... the pilot is a true hero regardless of this new information

I hope that's not true. If so someone should be without a job.

There is a new theory on what brought the plane down. These were no ordinary geese. This photo was captured just one hour before the plane went down.

I found out the company I work for builds the axillary power units that let the pilot keep control of the plane. I was surprised the company I work for could be that useful.

Honeywell Keeps Power On to Help Pilot Land Disabled Jet in New York’s Hudson River
Honeywell’s Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), a device which provides power when main aircraft engines are not running, played a critical role in the emergency landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in New York’s Hudson River on Thursday, January 15. Captain Chesley B. Sullenberger III maneuvered the plane en route from New York’s La Guardia airport to Charlotte, North Carolina, to glide approximately 3,000 feet without power and splash down slowly in the river, according to The Wall Street Journal. All 155 people on board the flight survived.

Got a source? Cause when I saw this last week (Thursday?), the story was that it had a compressor stall two days before, it's not a rare event, the engine started back up and they continued to Charlotte with no issues. The event was logged, and the appropriate parts were replaced. Can't seem to find an update w/ what you're saying.

That's what I heard, too. Just after the crash happened it surfaced that there had been a compressor stall just after takeoff during a flight two days prior, but that the engine started back up and they continued on, NOT turned back to the airport.
    Ludicrous gibs!
