I'm looking at the Raysonic CD128 ($1600 NEW), Raysonic CD168 ($2K new), or Esoteric SA-10 (Demo - $2,800)

I like those tubes on the Raysonic gear, but I bet the Esoteric is still plenty smooth and warm.

Which would you guys recommend? I put the Esoteric in there because it plays SACDs. Are SACDs dying? Are they all classical titles? I don't want this to be an investment like HD DVDs were. What's your perspective? What's your sense? What should I consider?

Ohh I forgot I'm considering the BCD-1 as well.

I'm not sure how much this helps, but I heard a X01D2 paired with Ayre gear, Nordost cables, and Dynaudio Sapphires and it was VERY smooth.

I thought you already had a CD128? It is a pretty nice redbook player.
In any case, any of those will probably be a great player. But I think you won't be satisfied, ever. Just saying.

Not true, I'm getting there. Just required some growing up on my part to realize when I most enjoyed my tunes . . . that's the kid of system I am trying to build.
