Has anyone ever seen this amp before or know anything about it? It's a 400w monoblock that uses KT88s, and that would be a killer combo for any speakers. I'll move this question over to DIYaudio eventually, but I thought I'd start here since I like you guys better.

For a start, I contacted EDCOR about making me a few custom transformers. I figured that if I can't get the iron for the amp, sourcing the rest of the parts isn't worth it. Here is the reply I got back from them, "From what I can tell the transformer is larger than we have capabilities of making. We don’t use laminations that large." It appears this is the end of this project and we'll just brand it TATB. (Too awesome to build )

How about Plitron or AnTek?"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I could try either of those, but one of the issues is the is no record of anyone ever building this amp before. Just because it's from 1957 doesn't make it a bad design, but it A LOT of money for a generally untested design. The 21 tubes per mono alone are quite pricey, let alone the iron. Although it would be fun to play around with 550v...
