There are some Blu-ray players that will also play HD DVD's, but most of them don't.

If I recall correctly, you got a Sony BD-S350 right? That won't play HD DVD's. I'd hang on to the Toshiba myself. Always nice to be able to use the different formats.

Yeah, I'd hang on to the Toshiba. There are a ton of great deals around on HD DVD's right now, and they're going to look and sound just as good as the Blu-rays in my opinion. So you'll be able to pick up a ton of movies for way less than their blu-ray counterparts.

    I'm with you.

Bought my Toshiba HD-DVD after the format wars were over precisely for the reasons given above and also because I haven't yet bitten the bullet on Blu-ray (will probably go PS3 on that when prices drop). And the players were selling for a fourth of their original prices?

Toshiba great upconverting DVD player. Still a lot of titles around.

Should consider a future NEW post--a HD-DVD price watch?

There are actually several players that will play both formats. LG, Pioneer and Panasonic all have models that will play both.
