Jesus. Not only did he go down in flames but he took all his family and friends with him. What a moron!

I thought only the elderly fell for those scams. A 22-year old?! Really?! How did he even know how to use email if he was that retarded?
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I'm always getting those emails. I've replied to a couple with, "Oh my God!" "Oh my God!" Yes!!!!!!!! "Oh my God!" "What do I have to do?" Then mark it as spam and giggle my fargin arse off. :D

That's a good way to get yourself on about 50x more spam email lists. I'm sure your filter catches most of them, but seriously, NEVER respond to spam, even if it's cathartic or you think you're spamming them back (you're not, they don't care).

You guys have had to see the sites where they scam the scammers. They'd do things like, "I"ll send the money, but first send me a picture of yourself with your pants down and a fish on your head", The Nigerians would snap the photos and send them off - funny stuff!

I saw that site where the guy scammed the scammers. It was hilarious. You'd think they knew something was up when he asked them to hold up a dead fish lol.

    Ricardo,
The guy was posting the letters they were sending him and the responses he sent back. He decided to mess with them by asking them to do weird things like hold up a fish and take a picture so he would know it's really them and then he could send the money. They did whatever he wanted just to get him to send them cash and they thought they were the ones doing the scamming.

This isn't the same guy, but it's from the 419eater website...same concept though.

I met a guy who sold his Vette on eBay and had an offer of almost 10k more than it was worth if he'd ship it to Nigeria. Well when he received a "check," he shipped the car. About a month later, the check came back bounced so he still had an outstanding loan on the car so he still owed 54k on a car he shipped away. Oops. My dad works at the bank and the guy came in asking for help... like they're just going to say "Ok, you got duped, we'll cut you a break." Sorry buddy, you screwed up.

Wow...I suppose I feel bad for the guy, but wouldn't anyone with even a shred of common sense be able to figure out that they were being scammed? As others have said, the apple didn't fall far from the tree if he had family members willing to lend him all that money. I would have to assume that someone would have caught on to the fact that it was a scam...As they say though, common sense isn't very common.

That being said though, those scammers are ****. I couldn't even imagine trying to do that to someone...they'll get theirs in the end though.

After reading the whole thing, I think the title of this thread should be changed to The World's Dumpest Family Found.

Yes, I had those emails before and I asked the guy where can I send them the money. The guy sent me all info how to send the money to him. Then, I sent to him 2 or 3 emails everyday for about a week asked them did you receive the money yet? The guy thought I did send him money but for some reason he did not receive it so he asked me scan for him the receipt. I just took my camera and took several pictures of my back yard and sent the those pictures to him. This is what I did when I have a scam email. I will reply to that email several times and attach few large pictures to eat up his mail box space.

Buying an engagement ring is not unlike these Nigerian 419 scams.

You think that with a little front-end investment, there will be a big payoff down the road that'll leave you sitting like the King of Siam !

......and after the deal goes down, you're pretty much left standing there holding nothing but your wheezer in your hand and the thought that, "Man, I think I got screwed !".
