Hello, I just picked up a pair of Monitor 7c's with stands all in mint condition. I'm pretty happy with the sound, but everyone says the vintage speakers sound so much better with peerless, sl2000, etc tweeters. My questions are:
1. If I wanted new to upgrade to a set of new tweeters from my current sl1000's, would any modifications need to be done to the crossover?
2. Would a sl2000 or sl2500 tweeter fit in the spot of the sl1000 with no modifications?
3. I haven't had a chance to put the monitor 7's in my system yet but I plan on listening to them with my rt1000i's. Are they going to sound ok together if I dont change the tweeters?
My main concern is I dont want to spend alot of money. $150 is my limit, being I only spent $100 for the speakers and I dont think they sound horrible. Im just wondering how much better they can sound. Thanks so much.

I have monitor 7C's and I think the tweeters are sl2000's. I could be wrong I never took them out to look at them. If they are sl2000's then the RDO 194 would be the replacement and they sound better. Call Polk and say you are a member and receive a discount. It should run you under $100.00. Good luck.
