OK have still not purchased the mcintosh. I have looked at AR and BAT but I still want the Mc.
There is a mcintosh MC7106 that I can get for half the price of a MC352.
Does anybody know if it is worth the extra money to get the 352. I plan on using the amp to drive lsi15s or sda 1b or 10Bs.

Have you been to Flanners yet? They have a ton of McIntosh gear.

I will be the first to admit that I know next to nothing about Mc gear the only amp I ever tried I was highly dissapointed in the sound quality but it was old and most likely well used, and there are lots of people who seem to feel they are very nice units so I am thinking that the one I listened to was an anamoly. You might try going here to the Mc forum on AK lots of very knowledgeable people, not that there isnt here also.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I had a 6900 for a bit. It was a solid unit! Darn good sounding. I missed having a tube in the preamp section so I sold it and went back to my old ARC sp16 for the preamp and a McIntosh MC402 for the amp. Its an impressive combo!
