    Hello Wes,
Thanks for participating in the Forum. The 6.5" drivers and tweeter used in the RT55i are magnetically shielded. The drivers, used in the RT55i, have a fairly high BL (you can think of "BL" as motor strength; a function of the number of turns of wire on the voice coil and magnetic field strength of the permanent magnet) which means there could be a very slight amount of residual stray magnetic fields, effecting your particular set. Drivers meant for center channels, for example the CS400i, have a slightly lower BL giving less potential stray magnetic fields. This is done to produce the best combination of driver performance and magnetic shielding. A center channel, since it is placed on top of a television set has to have the least amount of stray magnetic fields, therefore the BL of the driver is designed at a certain specification. The driver for a main right and left speaker is probably not going to be placed directly beside a television set. We can then slightly "tilt" the driver's BL toward a higher level knowing that the magnetic shielding will reduce the field below any concerns.
Is there any possibility of moving the speaker slightly further away from the sides of the television set? Even a few inches can make the difference. If this is not possible, I'm sure I can be of help, please email me at kswauger@polkaudio.com or telephone me at 1-800-377-7655 extension 891.
I hope this is helpful information.
    Regards, Ken Swauger
