I sold M1's right next to SDA's. The M1's were ground breaking for their day and I liked them for completely different reason's vs. SDA's. I now own SDA's......."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Have never had the chance for a side by side......I just see as many M-1's elsewhere for sale as I do SDA's..well here in MN I never see SDA's for sale...guess they both have their "own sound" -

They certainly have their own sound and IMO, the original "M" series was/is better than what Mirage puts out today.
The M1's were pretty big as big speakers were in then. I really liked them and if there was a pair in my backyard and a good deal, I'd probably get them.
Totally different top to bottom than SDA's, but nice sounding nonetheless."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience.
