i will be getting my XPA-3 tomarrow, this is my first amp i have ever had or played with. i was wondering if putting an external amp helps take the load off your receiver.(not having to work as hard).these are the stupid questions you get with a new guy. LOL

Yes.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Thanks i figured as much, but was curious if i was right.

This will reduce the load on the transistors and also the current draw from your coil. You may find your amp runs cooler.

damnit! I'm right on the edge of pulling the trigger on one of these, but the other half of me is telling me to be smart and save the money (or maybe it's telling me not to piss off my wife...). But every time one of you guys posts that you just ordered one, I get a little bit weaker

Broncosrule21,
I'll help out that little devil guy sitting on your shoulder telling you to buy the XPA-3. Buy the XPA-3! I promiss you are going to love the way it sounds with RTi 10s and your Denon 2809 (I've replace my 806 Onkyo with the 2809). Of course If you're thinking of waiting to buy the XPA-5 instead, well that's a whole different matter.
