I have been in the market for new speakers lately. Looking for midsize floorstanders. Everyone seems to be having big sales on IQ7 speakers.

Can anyone share their experiences with Kef and how they sound compared to LSI's (i currently have the 9's)..your opinions. I have been eyeballing Totems (hawks) on used market. But with the cost of the kefs, I may try for the hell of it (if they supposedly sound better than lsi)....I do understand that it is all subjective, just curious of your thoughts.

Two different sounds. LSi's are to warm as KEF is to bright.

Heard both...the LSi is in an entirely different league. I would say the iQ competes well with the RTi (both are a little bright and seem to be geared to HT). iQs are being closed out cheap (b/c the new series is here)...so they are a good deal.

Hmmm, want to brighten it up a little, but that might be a bit much.

The comparison to RTI is also a good description, and they they are dirt cheap now. If I did'nt need them for music also, i would probably buy for the hell of it.

    Thanks for the info

Too Funny - they are being sold new at places like Vanns for 400 a pair and now they are popping up on the gon for 5 and 6 hundred

Interesting, could just be coincidence :)

The IQ7's sparked my interest too at $400 a pair, but from what I heard, the RTi A series is just as good (depending on your listening tastes) and imo the Polks are just better looking.

    Fronts: Energy RC-70
    Center: Energy RC-LCR
    Surrounds: Energy Veritas 1.0CM
    Subwoofer: SVS PC12-NSD
    Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR705

It's not that the RTi A's are just as good..they are better IMHO. Better bass response and a little less bright. I thought the Kef's had a little wider soundstage (maybe b/c of the tweeter-in-midrange design?) but otherwise the polks had it all.

I might also add that the Kefs are finished in a rather cheap veneer...far from the quality of the Kef reference series or even the XQ series. The IQ's seem rather cheaply made to me.
